"I love the massages I get from DeAna!!! Especially the suction cups to relieve pressure"-Taylor Elise
"I have been seeing DeAna for massage for about two years now. I will continue to see her for many reasons. She is very responsive to my requests and she’s also very good at assessing what’s going on with my body and working the high-needs areas. I am an active person, and I often come in with knots, minor injuries, or muscle pain. I ALWAYS leave her cozy room feeling much better. She includes essential oils for both relaxation and therapeutic purposes, as well as a variety of stretching techniques to further loosen tense muscles. In addition to being excellent at her craft, DeAna has extremely reasonable rates, below industry averages, making her the best value that I’ve found, by far. Finally, she’s simply a lovely person: easy to talk to, friendly, responsive, and personable. As somebody who has tried a wide variety of massage therapists, I confidently recommend DeAna to anybody seeking massage. She’s the best!" --Denise R. of Golden, CO

DeAna LMT & Reiki Master,
DeAna Durbin has worked in the health care field since 1991. Her work started as a Home birth midwife, which she did for 22 years catching over 300 babies. Midwifery has been an integral part of DeAna's life since she was a child. Her mom and dad had 10 children together and DeAna was number four. As her mom prepared for each birth, she also prepared each of her children in understanding the birthing process. She would read her birthing books to them so they could get a better understanding of what to expect on this beautiful journey of life. DeAna's first birth experience was at age 15 and it was the birth of her niece. It was beautiful and showed her the miracle of birth!
After traveling around Europe for 6 months as a high school senior, she went to the University of Colorado in Boulder and studied cultural anthropology. She met a midwife her last semester in college at a woman's week event and immediately started taking classes. She began her apprenticeship after she graduated. Cultural anthropology helped her to become a better midwife due to the cultural diversity of people choosing home birth. Many people choose to birth in their homes for different reasons. She believes people choose it because they want a non-violent birth for their babies, they believe in the natural model of birth, they trust their bodies and minimal interventions can have the best outcomes. This is carried into her massage practice because she helps to create a platform for self healing and self care. It its her belief that, with educated guidance in natural healing processes we can help empower people in their lives to heal themselves.
In 2012 she started her Reiki training and incorporated that into her Home birth practice. In 2013 she became a Reiki master and her career took a new direction as she continued training as a body worker. In September 2014 she became a professional practitioner in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®. She then completed her training in massage therapy in April 2015 from the Denver Integrative Massage School. Her training includes the best of both Western and Eastern massage techniques. The modalities include Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Trigger point therapy, prenatal, Swedish, Thai Yoga massage, assisted stretches, Acupressure, Herbal medicine, hot stone massage, Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy and Reiki healing energy work is included in every session. She also holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colorado.
